Symposium This Week! Symposium Panelist Spotlight!

Tracy Agyemang currently serves as a Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Labor. In that role, she provides legal advice regarding all statutory enforcement matters under the purview of the Department of Labor. By representing the Secretary of Labor in any necessary litigation, including both enforcement and defense litigation, and by providing legal opinions and advice concerning client agency activities, Tracy supports the Department of Labor’s mission to improve working conditions. Prior to joining the Department of Labor, Tracy clerked for Hon. Petrese B. Tucker, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she was a Senior Managing Editor for the Journal of Law & Gender and a judicial Fellow to the Hon. Joseph A. Greenaway, who currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. While in law school Tracy was an intern for the General Counsel’s Office of AFL-CIO AFSME District Council 37, a New York City municipal employee’s labor union. She received her B.S., magna cum laude, from Morgan State University. Represented by Wilhelmina PA, Tracy balances her legal practice with a modeling career. She is currently authoring an article on legal considerations specific to employing child and adolescent fashion models. Tracy is a member of the New York bar.

Kanika Corley, an associate in the Los Angeles office, represents major media, entertainment and advertising entities. Ms. Corley focuses her practice on copyright and trademark infringement litigation. She has experience negotiating and drafting intellectual property agreements, as well as registering, policing and protecting trademarks and copyrights.
In addition to litigating copyright and trademark infringement cases, she has experience litigating general business disputes involving breach of contract, interference with contractual relations and prospective business advantage, defamation, false advertising and other forms of unfair competition. She also represents and advises entertainers and athletes in entertainment business, technologies and related issues involving the music, wireless and online industries, as well as counseling North American nonprofit organization clients.
Ms. Corley received her B.S. (1999) from the University of Southern California, where she was on the Dean’s List during her entire undergraduate career. Ms. Corley received her J.D. (2002) from the University of San Diego, Warren School of Law. During law school, she was the recipient of numerous honors, including Am Jur, UCC: Commercial Sales & Transactions, and Chief Student Comments Editor, San Diego International Law Journal.

Symposium Panelist Spotlight! Ali Grace Marquart

Ali Grace Marquart currently serves as the Deputy General Counsel and the Director of Business and Legal Affairs for Wilhelmina International, Ltd., one of the most prominent model management companies in the world. In that role, she manages all legal matters for Wilhelmina, ranging from immigration to intellectual property issues. She is also an adjunct professor at Fordham Law School, where she created the curriculum for and teaches the first-ever course on “Fashion Modeling Law” with Doreen Small. She received her BA magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, where she was a Renaissance Scholar, and her JD from UC Hastings College of the Law, where she was an editor for the Hastings Law Journal

H & M is launching a new recycling effort within in its own store! Essentially you bring your unused clothing items to an H&M store and you get a discount voucher! Check out the link to watch the livestream video of this truly great movement.

H & M will then reuse the clothing or will resell as secondhand. Simply a great environmental and fashion forward innovative!
